The Didache
The Didache—“The Teaching of the Lord through the Twelve Apostles to the Nations”—is a short church manual composed in the first century A.D. (often dated c. 50–100). It offers a window into the moral, liturgical, and communal life of some of the earliest Christian communities. For the Orthodox Church, the Didache is valued as an Apostolic Father text, an authoritative early witness to Holy Tradition. Orthodox seminarians, catechists, and historians read the Didache as a compact pastoral rule from the apostolic age, a practical link between New Testament teaching and later, fuller liturgical and canonical formulations. Dear Friend
50 Simple Letters to a Dear Friend About the Ancient Orthodox Church. A collection of letters written as a gentle introduction to the Orthodox Christian faith. They are addressed to a “dear friend,” someone who loves Christ but may be unfamiliar with the Orthodox Church. The goal of these letters is very simple — to explain the faith of the Church that Jesus founded and the Apostles spread, in a way that is easy to understand. Each letter covers one topic—such as the Bible, prayer, the sacraments, the saints, worship, and daily Christian life. Every letter includes passages from the Holy Scriptures, so that the reader can see how the teachings of the Church are rooted in the Word of God. 2025 revised ed. PDF
The Seven-fold Supplication Before the Sacred Heart
A devotional companion compiled and edited by Brother Joseph designed to guide the faithful through a weekly rhythm of prayer rooted in reparation, intercession, and hope. Drawing upon the rich spiritual heritage of the Catholic and Orthodox traditions, this booklet offers a set of carefully crafted prayers for each day of the week, together with concluding devotions that deepen the soul’s union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. These prayers address the urgent needs of the Church and the world such as reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist, defence of the Holy Name, the strengthening of clergy and catechists, unity between East and West, the sanctity of family life, the dignity of every human person, and the hidden yet invaluable witness of hermits and contemplatives. Written in a reverent and elevated style, the prayers are suitable for private use, parish devotion, small groups, and hermitages.
This booklet aims to lead the reader into a deeper spirit of reparation, a firmer confidence in divine mercy, and a renewed dedication to holiness. Whether prayed daily or integrated into a wider spiritual practice, these devotions seek to draw every heart closer to the abiding love of Christ, whose Sacred Heart is the refuge of sinners, the strength of the faithful, and the peace of the world.
